Welcome to ETSW, and thank you for visiting our website.

ETSW is an affiliated British Riding Club based in North Somerset. Established in 2012, the club was founded with the aim of providing local riders with access to high-quality training opportunities delivered by a variety of experienced professional trainers.

In 2017,

 

ETSW affiliated with British Riding Clubs and has since grown into a well-established riding club. Our membership comprises riders of all backgrounds and abilities. While the club’s primary focus is on offering training and riding opportunities that enable members to develop their skills and enjoy their horses, affiliation has also allowed our members to compete at a higher level. As a result, ETSW members have qualified for and represented the club at every British Riding Clubs National Championship.

Training
 

ETSW organises a wide variety of training events at numerous venues across Somerset and North Somerset in the South West, catering for riders of all ages and abilities.

Our training programme is highly bespoke and inclusive, supporting:

  • Riders on young or inexperienced horses

  • Those lacking confidence or returning to riding

  • Riders aspiring to compete at affiliated levels
     

Training sessions are delivered in small, carefully matched groups of horses and riders to ensure a positive, supportive, and productive learning environment. We believe smaller groups allow for more individual attention, clearer instruction, and better progression for both horse and rider.

 

Private training sessions are also available for members who wish to focus on specific goals, challenges, or development areas.

 

We are fortunate to have access to an excellent network of trainers across the region and are proud to offer training with a wide range of respected and well-known professionals, covering a variety of disciplines and suited to all levels.

Competitions

Be part of one of our friendly and supportive teams competing in a wide range of British Riding Clubs Area 12 qualifiers, including:

  • Dressage

  • Dressage to Music

  • Show Jumping

  • Horse Trials

ETSW has a strong and diverse mix of riders, and whether your goal is to qualify for Championships or simply to enjoy competing as part of a team, there is a team to suit everyone. We pride ourselves on being inclusive, encouraging, and supportive—making team competition both achievable and fun for all abilities.

Club Camp

Join us for one of our popular ETSW residential Camps, held at high-quality, all-purpose venues across Somerset and the surrounding areas.

Club camp offers the perfect balance of learning, fun, and socialising, with expert instruction from top trainers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Whether you prefer to:

  • Enjoy gentle hacks

  • Focus on flatwork

  • Keep all four feet firmly on the ground

  • Or fly around the cross-country course

There is a camp package to suit every rider and horse. Club camp is a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy time with like-minded members—both in and out of the saddle.
